Youth

"Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Timothy 4:12

The presence of youth is highly regarded at Zion UMC. Throughout the course of the year, they come together to learn about their faith, enjoy friendships, participate on mission trips, go on really cool field trips, and eat lots of food. Please know that the youth at Zion UMC welcome any youth that are active at other churches as well as those who have no church home. This is a relaxed and yet meaningful time for the youth where they experience a safe place to learn and talk and be a source of support for one another as they make their way through the teen years.

Nursery Information

Our nursery is staffed and available for the 8:00am and 10:45am worship service each Sunday. There will be two trained attendants on duty in each Nursery level. These attendants have been through the Red Cross Babysitting Course and are certified in CPR. There are two levels for childcare:

  • Family Room - Room #14 (Upper Level)
    • for nursing mothers, fussy babies, fidgety toddlers, and children who need to settle. There is a speaker in this room so you can still hear the service. All children in this room are to be accompanied by a parent.
  • Nursery - Room #9 (Lower Education Wing)
    • Children up to and including kindergarten age are permitted in the Nursery.
    • All children using the Nursery are to be signed in by a parent. No child is to be sent to the Nursery alone or with a sibling. Information is required before parent departs for worship.
    • Parents are required to pick up children immediately after worship. Children will not be released to any sibling under the age of 13 years.
  • "Munchkin Methodist" Quiet Packs (Children ages 3 through 10)
    • These are found in the narthex and are labeled with appropriate age levels for your convenience. Take a tote into worship and then place it back in the used bin afterward. Be sure to take the children's bulletin with you at the end of worship.
